Live, Laugh, Love on Valentine's Day

Live, laugh and love is a saying we hear so very often. But what does the Bible say about living, laughing and loving; and how can you do all three this Valentine's Day?

Live
...be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Ephesians 5:19

Laugh
He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, And your lips with rejoicing. Job 8:21

Love
Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:30-36

As you can see, the Lord wants us to live, laugh and love. He wants us to truly live. Not just to sustain our existence but to be filled with His spirit and praise him. The Lord wants us to laugh with the joy of the gift of love that He is, and to love unconditionally as He does.

Of course, you want to live, laugh and love according to the scriptures daily. But with Valentine's Day coming up, you may be wondering how you can live a little fuller, laugh a little louder and love with the fullness of your heart. Here's a few ideas I came up with to do just that.

Live
Sing 'Day by Day' all day long on Valentine's Day.
Here's the words:
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Hear the tune HERE.

Laugh

Unconditional Love
Yes, God loves us all, but He favors "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts!"

God is like..
Allstate: You're in good hands.
Alka-Seltzer: Try him, you'll like Him
Tide: He gets the stains out that others leave behind.
Sears: He has everything.
A Ford: He's got a better idea.
Hallmark Cards: He cared enough to send the very best.
Bayer Asprin: He works miracles.
Delta: He's ready when you are.
Alberto Vo-5: He holds through all kinds of weather.
Coke: He's the real thing.
The US Post Office: Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail will keep Him from His appointed rounds.
Scotch Tape: You can't see Him, but you know He's there.
Dial Soap: Aren't you glad you've got Him? Don't you wish everybody did?
General Electric: He brings good things to life.
Forbidden Fruit
A forbidden fruit will create many jams.

Love
Spread God's love through Valentine cards with those who will be alone on Valentine's Day. You can make cards with construction paper and craft supplies or make cards on your computer with free Christian Valentine Graphics. Think of those who really need the Lord's love and yours. Perhaps someone in a nursing home, some one recently widowed, a youth away at college with no boyfriend/girlfriend, etc
